AutoBorne Primary Sealer Set 8oz
The AutoBorne Primary Sealer Set includes 8oz bottles of 6001 White, 6002 Black, 6004 Yellow, 6006 Red, and 6008 Blue, along with a bottle of 4012 High Performance Reducer. This set is part of the AutoBorne Sealers 6000 series, which provide the necessary foundation for any graphic, complete automotive, or large-panel paintjob.
With incredible adhesion to any substrate, including plastic, these sealers dry quickly and level out smoothly. They can be dry sanded with 1000 grit or finer sandpaper. The quick drying time of the sealers also allows for quicker drying times of subsequent coats of Auto Air Colors, as less material is required to cover the surface.
The AutoBorne Sealers offer various applications for different effects. For an even orientation and metallic hiding, the 6013 Sealer Aluminum can be applied before the 4100 Series Aluminums and 4300 Series Silvers. By color-keying the AutoBorne Sealer with Pearlized and Metallic Colors from the 4300 series, a uniform and well-orientated pearlescent finish can be achieved, reducing the amount of Pearlized Color required for coverage.
These sealers are universally compatible with any paint system and can be applied directly to other primer types such as DTM etch-primers. They adhere well to various substrates such as aluminum, wood, urethane, and most plastics. The adhesion of AutoBorne Sealers is truly tenacious.
After application, the sealers take 48 hours to fully cure. They can be taped on, sanded, and Createx Colors products can be applied in less than 30 minutes. However, if solvent-based paint or clear is to be applied, allow for 48 hours of cure time, followed by sanding or degreasing. The sealers can be top-coated with solvent-based paint soon after application, as long as they are wiped with degreaser or sanded.
For best results, the AutoBorne Sealer can be reduced by 10% per volume with the 4011 High Performance Reducer. It is recommended to use a spray gun with a 1.2 – 1.4mm tip size at 25 – 30 psi. For smaller tip sizes, such as mini-guns and airbrushes, the sealer should be reduced accordingly to achieve proper flow and atomization.
